Adventure to the Balkans Travelogue Pt. 9: Lake Bled, Slovenia & Postjana Cave, Croatia

Tuesday, July 07, 2020

Finally, we come to the end of the journey in the Balkans. We saw the Latin Bridge, the triggering event for WWII where the Duke was assassinated; we saw the Triple Bridge which was designed to accommodate more footfall in the city - Today we travel to Slovenia and Croatia where we get to appreciate the splendours of natural wonders.

You get to see the money shot right here, the Lake Bled with the island in the middle, surrounded by the morning mist.

A wonderful closeup shot of the island.

About to take the boat on a journey to the island in the middle of the lake!

On the island, got some Gelato~

Back to the mainland for more pictures.

I can't forget this cream cake till this day. This cream cake is a local delicacy.

Dinner time.

Now, we go to Postojna Cave, a natural underground cave full of stalagmites in Croatia.

We boarded on this little tram that takes us through the cave.

It was a rather exciting ride, with our group boarding the tram and zooming around the cave at high speeds. Makes me wonder at the marvels of Mother Nature...

The white parts of the cave were limestone, red parts are made of iron oxide and grey parts made of manganese. They form shiny crystals and rain curtains due to the incline in ceiling.

Final meal at the Balkans

Last stop was to the Venice outlet mall which is not pictured here.

Finally, we stopover at Dubai airport where I ate this giant hamburger.

That concludes the 9-part series of the trip! I hope everyone had fun and stay tuned for more of my adventures around the world (whenever that happens!)

Adventure to the Balkans Travelogue Pt. 1: Zagreb, Croatia

Hola at you readers! It's me, Sasha Bear here - and today we're FINALLY going to post about my trip to the Balkans circa Octo...

Quote I Love

“To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.”
