November November November~

November was amazing, what with our staycation at Orchid Country Club and a variety of activities. Pictured here is our annual and twice annual Fragile Hearts gathering at Sum Kee. The Ultraman chicken and dishes are always amazing, and we got to taste a new creation of Nic's mom, Iceberg Sweet and Sour Pork.

We start off the month of November (and the tail end of October), staying at the Country Club due to the renovations at our house. This was the view from our room. Was refreshing to say the least, with the greenery and sea view.

The entrance to our large dulex room which could fit 3-4 people.

The toilet~

This is the actual room view, with one king sized bed and one super single bed. Very comfortable, and best of all we got a discount for our stay because of the promotions!

There was a variety of activities to do such as bowling.

Pictured here is my first attempt at bowling in my life. Safe to say I came out worse for wear with a broken nail.

Using the gym after work twice or trice weekly was also a treat. Surprisingly, my mom was super into gymming. The variety of machines was mind-boggling but we somehow managed. Pity we didn't manage to swim though! The one time we tried to, the pool was booked for a private event.

The view from the room is really nice. Couldn't resist a shot on the balcony.

We ate at the Royal Palm resto which had amazing selection for the price we paid. Mussels, beef, prawns, satay, curry chicken - the works.

The CBD was also decorated for Christmas cheer, especially the Fullerton, which was decked out in poinsettias and lights. (When I think of poinsettias I keep thinking of the Habbo Hotel furniture, or the potted plant poinsettias, which was worth a lot of in-game currency back then.)

Dined with Nat and Dezhi at En Sakaba's Central outlet. The food was amazing there - we had the salmon don, the 5 sashimi don, beef truffle don, marinated octopus, burdock, crab shell and fried cheese! Was a night of reminiscing and it was good to meet after so long.

We had drinks at Blacknut/Alley Bar after, just speaking our minds and finding out what everyone is up to. I love Alley Bar for the ambience and the decor, it's always a perennial favourite along the Emerald Hill stretch.

Took time out to have this resplendent spread at Fratini La Tratorria, for their 11 course SGD90+ meal, quite worth the money I have to say. There was starters, beef cheek, salmon, lamb, crayfish, truffle pasta and desserts. The taste was kind of off from some of the dishes though, I have to say. The waitress was also very upbeat and would announce each dish with aplomb. That was something that you don't get at other restaurants.

Went back the Nanjing Impressions with mom and dad. Had the famous Nanjing salted duck, soy sauce noodles, roast duck, baby wontons, cabbage and vermicelli, marinated black fungus, sweet cake and my favourite, snow pear with hawthorn. I feel like a Chinese princess taking my tonic when I eat the dessert haha.

Also, took time out to have brunch with the Booty Babes and the Tang Marriott Plaza. Talked a lot about Ming's wedding which is happening in April. Didn't hurt that it was actually free flow of cakes savoury and sweet - the conversation was kept flowing along with the tea and coffees.

Btw I cut my hair! So it's no long as luscious as it was before haha. And buy that I mean thick. It's pretty layered now. Can't decide whether I like it or hate it thought? :/ hmmm. This is a throwback to what it looked like a week ago.

Been addicted to getting my hair washed and curled, so I guess with the haircut it's going to encourage that less. (Save money!)

Is everyone ready for Christmas! It's pretty soon - less than 2 weeks it seems at the time of writing this post. Are you on Santa's naughty or nice list? Hehe. Torn between starting on December's post immediately or waiting for Christmas and New Year's to end before doing a post roundup. We shall see! x

Adventure to the Balkans Travelogue Pt. 1: Zagreb, Croatia

Hola at you readers! It's me, Sasha Bear here - and today we're FINALLY going to post about my trip to the Balkans circa Octo...

Quote I Love

“To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.”
