Favourite poem

Thursday, April 21, 2016

This poem means a lot to be and I really love it. I chanced upon it when I was experiencing extreme turmoil with my emotional life 2 years ago. Found it and it resonated with me a lot. Here it is today, I hope you appreciate it as much as I do.

Unending Love

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times…
In life after life, in age after age, forever.
My spellbound heart has made and remade the necklace of songs,
That you take as a gift, wear round your neck in your many forms,
In life after life, in age after age, forever.

Whenever I hear old chronicles of love, its age-old pain,
Its ancient tale of being apart or together.
As I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge,
Clad in the light of a pole-star piercing the darkness of time:
You become an image of what is remembered forever.

You and I have floated here on the stream that brings from the fount.
At the heart of time, love of one for another.
We have played along side millions of lovers, shared in the same
Shy sweetness of meeting, the same distressful tears of farewell-
Old love but in shapes that renew and renew forever.

Today it is heaped at your feet, it has found its end in you
The love of all man’s days both past and forever:
Universal joy, universal sorrow, universal life.
The memories of all loves merging with this one love of ours –
And the songs of every poet past and forever.

Osaka Traveloge 3.0

Sunday, April 17, 2016

Day 4 of our trip was to Fushimi Inari shrine and Kiyomizudera in Kyoto. It was a lovely Wednesday! The weather was really great, though I would've liked it to be a little colder than it was. Took a 1 hour ride from our Air BnB at Nippombashi to arrive at Kyoto.

The snacks on the street leading up to Fushimi Inari.

Osaka Traveloge Part 2.0

Sunday, April 10, 2016

Monday

I think I can let the pictures speak for themselves on this day. We went to the Osaka Aquarium, had okonomiyaki, took the ferris wheel, went to a park with tons of sakura, and went to get sushi for dinner.

Osaka Traveloge Part 1.0

Sunday, April 10, 2016

Whew I'm finally back from Japan. The flight back was really tiring because the first flight to Shanghai delayed and we missed our connecting flight out to Singapore... :-( Going to break up the post into parts because there are way too many pictures to post all at once.

Saturday
Took a connecting flight from Singapore to Shanghai and then Osaka. We spent the morning in Shanghai and spent some time with Grandmamaw and Grandpapaw at Hongqiao. :) Pictures from the morning there!

Osaka travelogue part 0.5

Tuesday, April 05, 2016

Hi everyone! Currently halfway through my Osaka and Kyoto trip. Currently on a train to Kyoto. Some impressions of Japan thus far.
1) The MRT stations are like mazes. Like seriously, I would totally be lost if I were to come alone to Japan. Not only are the maps full of lines like a bunch of coloured spaghetti, the different lines on the same stations are also notoriously far apart, sometimes requiring you to go up and down several flight of steps.

I am not my Label

Friday, April 01, 2016

A really powerful piece by Prince EA about rejecting the labels that society puts on us. I don't agree with the video 100% but it's well done stylistically, shall we say. :-)

Adventure to the Balkans Travelogue Pt. 1: Zagreb, Croatia

Hola at you readers! It's me, Sasha Bear here - and today we're FINALLY going to post about my trip to the Balkans circa Octo...

Quote I Love

“To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.”
