[Review] The Truth About Adisha Torre 2022

Sunday, November 13, 2022

Okay guys (and ladies) - I know I have been neglecting my blog and some of you are awaiting my long overdue May/June travelogues to Phuket and Bali (I will post them soon, promise!). And there's also my annual yearly round-up as per the tradition of Speak to me in Kisses (my blog name, in case you were wondering).

But before all that, I'd like to write an update on my experience with Adisha Torre, my facialist, as I am nearing my (current) package with them ever since starting 2 years ago! Click on the "Continue Reading" link below to read my post!

Relationship woes, job stresses, and the pressures of being a 21st-century empowered woman who looks and feels good definitely weighed on me heavily this year. It was about a 6-8 month break before I went back to Adisha Torre to finish up my package.

(If you haven't read my initial review of AT here, this post serves as a mini-update on their treatments and services.)

History: Adisha Torre is opened by Hollywood facialist Dan, and first reached the shores of Singapore almost 10 years ago. As compared to a lot of facial clinics in Singapore that just sort of have the same products and steps they use on clients, Adisha Torre prides itself on its in-house premium brands, cutting-edge facial and slimming machines, and also top-notch service from its beauticians. There's hardly any upselling here and nor the criticizing tactics that some of the local spas here have to sell their packages (Shudder).

Shopfront and Ambience: The Adisha Torre shopfront has expanded to 2 outlets in Centerpoint, one on the first floor, and one on the second floor. (There is also a charming jade and precious stone jewelry shop on the first floor next to the escalator, but I digress...) Their rooms are very spacious, reminiscent of a hotel suite, which play soothing tunes (classical guitar, ambient choral etc.) as the facialist gently massages your face. I could feel my worries melt away every time I visit.

My Skin: At my most recent visit, I was served by facialist Maybelline, who informed me of my main skincare woes, which were - oily on the inside and dry on the outside, many many oil clogs, and whiteheads, laugh lines, eyebags and a slight double chin. She advised me to sheet mask every night for 1 week using hydrating, hyaluronic acid masks and check back in with her on the improvements.

The Treatments: Maybelline started by cleansing my face with a gentle cleanser, which she wiped off with some damp cotton pads. Then she applied a hydrating, cream-based mask and used an oxygen jet (twice!) to increase absorption, refresh and kill germs. Then came the "mini-scrubber", which is a deep-epidermis cleansing device that vibrates 28,000 times a minute. If you're afraid of the pain of traditional skin extractions, this device is a life-saver for you! I could feel my small, oil-clogged pores cleaned in no time and with minimal discomfort (and it was very, very satisfying). The facialist then applied a collagen gel to my face and used a radio-frequency wand to lift my under eyes. This was followed by an ultrasound nozzle (a hand-held apparatus with 3 metal nodes) which she used to lift my cheek and neck area for lifting and skin-renewal. In the meanwhile, she started on my slimming with a device which was a slight more intense than laser-lipo (this one uses a penetrating laser into your epidermis). It was slightly sting-y and felt like small zaps of electricity on your stomach. Lastly, she applied two mini-dart under-eye patches and a 24k gold face and neck mask - and I was all good to go!

Verdict: If you want to get the Hollywood facial experience in Singapore, Adisha Torre is definitely the best place for you! Furthermore, they pride themselves with being an innovator in the Singapore skincare/medi-spa scene. Lastly, their services are 2-in-1 facial and slimming - something I think is unique only to them. Five stars!

Adventure to the Balkans Travelogue Pt. 1: Zagreb, Croatia

Hola at you readers! It's me, Sasha Bear here - and today we're FINALLY going to post about my trip to the Balkans circa Octo...

Quote I Love

“To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.”
