East Europe 2016 Travelogue Part 2 - Warsaw, Krakow, Auschwitz, Banksa Bytrisca, Budapest

Time for part 2 of my trip.

Day 6: Poznan to Krakow, Krakow to Auschwitz

I have to say this leg of the trip was pretty heavy, like the mood and all, because I guess the tour guide wanted to convey the severity of the atrocities suffered by the Jewish population in Europe during WWII. He was showing Schindler's List on the bus - although it was a great movie, it did give this part of the tour a more serious tone.

East Europe 2016 Travelogue Part 1 - Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Dresden, Berlin

Saturday, December 24, 2016

Hello friends! So it has been a month since my last post, and here I am finally writing about my trip to Eastern Europe. This is my second time going to Europe (with Spain and Portugal being my virgin trip in 2015) and I was so pumped for it. This time round, I made an effort to remember the attractions. The tour was sometimes overwhelming, with lots to see and photos to take, but I think I made the best of it :)

Here we go!

Almost Christmas!

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Sooo, am now about a week in after my trip to Europe. There're posts on that coming soon, I promise. I've been caught up with this course and exam this week (long story...) so I'll have to save the pictures and posts of Europe for the week after.

But in all seriousness, Europe was so awesome. I think I didn't really appreciate it as much when I went to Spain/Portugal in 2015 because I didn't put in as much effort absorbing all the culture and remembering the details of all the architecture we visited. So what happened was that I couldn't really differentiate all the various places when I looked at the photographs of the Spanish trip. This time round, I was really determined to make the best of the holiday and not be as overwhelmed, so I spent a lot of time on the bus reading up the historical facts of the places we visited. And also honestly I wanted to be able to talk about the destinations I visited to people who would ask, which I wasn't able to do for Spain (which I regret tremendously...!)

Just a teaser of the posts to come, we visited the following places on our 2 week tour of East Europe (in this order):

Czech Republic: Prague and Czesky Krumlov
Germany: Dresden and Berlin
Poland: Warsaw and Krakow
Hungary: Budapest
Slovakia: Banska Bystrica
Austria: Vienna and Salzburg
Germany: Munich

I can't wait to do the posts of the trip! But I have to get back to my books now (which are btw, killing me T_T). It's all going to be over by Saturday so I thank the heavens for that. Also, I am kind of missing work and the routine of it so looking forward to that on Monday.

Till Saturday,

House party and Ultra

Monday, September 12, 2016

Hey ya! Just finished an Ultra tiring weekend at Ultra. Lol, see what I did there! Anyway Ultra Singapore was really really and I mean REALLY muddy. And crowded, the queues for food and drink barely moved for over 1 hour. But the music was, eh, OKAY i guess. Silly me for wearing Haviannas to a music festival with all that MUD but I guess that's a lesson learnt? YOU NEED HEAVY DUTY WELLINGTONS das what you need. So anyway starting off September with a house party:

In the blink of the eye, it is now the first day of September... I am so excited because I'm planning trips to HK, SH and Seoul in the remaining 4 months of the year. Anyway, that's a story for another time. These were my adventures in August.

Adventure to the Balkans Travelogue Pt. 1: Zagreb, Croatia

Hola at you readers! It's me, Sasha Bear here - and today we're FINALLY going to post about my trip to the Balkans circa Octo...

Quote I Love

“To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.”
