October Mayhem!

Sunday, November 12, 2017

October was Halloween weekend and a whole bunch of other activities here in Sunny Singapore. There were Halloween parties to be at and food to be eaten. So here's a summary of my mega-October month! (Pictured here are Harlequin-Colette and Playboy Bunny-Chelsea, along with me, who's supposed to be a hippie!)

August and September, we're nearing Q4 2017!

Friday, October 06, 2017

In August and September, I sort of mellowed down a lot. Didn't go out on the weekday nights or weekends like I used to at the start of the year! I guess these two months were that of relaxation and reflection, as we slowly progress towards the last quarter of the year.

ArtScience and a little fun

Friday, October 06, 2017

In this post, I'll be documenting the 2 trips I've been to the museums here in Singapore. The first trip's pictures to ArtScience Museum for Yayoi Kasuma's exhibition are nestled in between the April, May, June post, towards the end! So for these two trips, I went to see the Universe Art, and Xiu Hai Lou Chinese Ink exhibitions at ArtScience Museum and National Gallery respectively. Not much commentary I'm afraid, but do take a look see and decide if you'd like to visit ArtScience Museum/National Gallery on your next fly-in to Singapore, or the weekend off.

February and March (Birthday Month) - Food, Museums, Celebrations

Monday, June 26, 2017

So I haven't been really diligently blogging recently. I know my blog is basically just a semi-private diary so that I can keep track of places I've been and people I've met, so sometimes I get lazy to write. (So far, I've gotten 3,827 views since Feb 2016. So that's quite encouraging...) Anyway just I shall see if I can finish blogging about 4 months in 1 post, if not I shall write a part 2.

January Jimmies

Sunday, February 12, 2017

January was as usual jam packed with activities, starting off 2017 with a bang. Kicking off the month of January were many foodscapades and a concert to boot! Plus who can forget Lunar New Year at the end of January and the feasting and merrymaking!

December 2016

Saturday, January 21, 2017

So, December was a month of extended holiday and meetups with friends, and also making new years resolutions. I was just cruising around on autopilot - meeting friends and spending time with family. Plus who can forget that impromptu trip to Bali/Lembongan? December 2016 was definitely one of the highlights of the year, not just because I got to go overseas again, but because it was just so chock full of activity - places to go and people to see!

Serenity Yoga Lembongan Bali Review (Bali Yoga Retreat) + Introduction to Nusa Lembongan

Sunday, January 08, 2017

For those of you who know, I had a really long break at the end of 2016 (23rd Dec to 2 Jan to be exact), and my wanderlust was acting up majorly. What better way to end the year than a reflective, calming trip with self-introspection and a mean workout to boot? I decided on going to a yoga retreat on a friend's recommendation, because she said her experience with one had changed her life. I was so excited! I started researching yoga retreats and came upon these two websites that became instrumental in making a decision on where to go:

East Europe 2016 Travelogue Part 3 - Vienna, Salzburg, Fussen, Munich

Day 11: Budapest to Pandorf to Vienna

Not pictured here is the morning's trip to the shopping outlet Pandorf near Vienna. The outlet is huuuuge, with stores such as SuperDry, Prada, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Ralph Lauren and the like. It started snowing when we arrived, so that was a lucky surprise - the trees and roads were peppered white. Purchased 2 bags here with some shirts and presents for the brother/dad. I have to talk about the tax refund process because of the grief it gave me. You are able to do refunds at Pandorf, but it's very troublesome.

East Europe 2016 Travelogue Part 2 - Warsaw, Krakow, Auschwitz, Banksa Bytrisca, Budapest

Time for part 2 of my trip.

Day 6: Poznan to Krakow, Krakow to Auschwitz

I have to say this leg of the trip was pretty heavy, like the mood and all, because I guess the tour guide wanted to convey the severity of the atrocities suffered by the Jewish population in Europe during WWII. He was showing Schindler's List on the bus - although it was a great movie, it did give this part of the tour a more serious tone.

East Europe 2016 Travelogue Part 1 - Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Dresden, Berlin

Saturday, December 24, 2016

Hello friends! So it has been a month since my last post, and here I am finally writing about my trip to Eastern Europe. This is my second time going to Europe (with Spain and Portugal being my virgin trip in 2015) and I was so pumped for it. This time round, I made an effort to remember the attractions. The tour was sometimes overwhelming, with lots to see and photos to take, but I think I made the best of it :)

Here we go!

Adventure to the Balkans Travelogue Pt. 1: Zagreb, Croatia

Hola at you readers! It's me, Sasha Bear here - and today we're FINALLY going to post about my trip to the Balkans circa Octo...

Quote I Love

“To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.”
